Woking Borough Council

Draft Woking Town Centre Masterplan

The Council consulted on a Draft Town Centre Masterplan, for a period of 12 weeks from 25 July 2022 to 17 October 2022. Thank you to everyone who participated and responded to the consultation. The Planning Policy Team are currently working to record and analyse the representations received, and will provide a further update in due course.

The information below is provided for information, as the consultation is now closed and representations can no longer be accepted.

Once adopted, the Woking Town Centre Masterplan will have status as a Supplementary Planning Document and will be a material consideration in planning decisions. It provides an overarching framework to guide development and investment decisions in the Town Centre and covers a range of topics. This includes a Townscape Strategy, which provides guidance on building heights across the Town Centre.

  • The full Draft Masterplan can be downloaded here
  • An Executive Summary can be downloaded here

The Masterplan is accompanied by an annex, which provides Site Specific Guidance on sites identified for development through the Town Centre. This provides an indicative illustration of the type of development that could be achieved, including yield, layout, height and massing of buildings.
