Woking Borough Council

Revised Statement of Community Involvement (Draft)

The revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how and when the Council intends to engage the public in the planning process, on Local Development Documents, planning applications and Neighbourhood Plans.

The existing SCI, available here, was adopted in February 2015. The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 require local planning authorities to review their SCIs every five years.  The SCI has been reviewed and amended to reflect changes in national planning policy, to reflect up-to-date information, and to make it more user-friendly.

The Council invited comments on the revised document from 27 September until 5pm on 8 November. All responses are being taken into account before finalising the document for adoption. The consultation document is available to download below:

Please note that the consultation period is now closed. If you have any questions on the draft SCI, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Planning Policy Team on 01483 743871.
