Revised Outlook, Amenity, Privacy and Daylight Supplementary Planning Document (Draft)
The Outlook, Amenity and Daylight Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides detailed guidance on achieving sustainable and appropriate outlook, privacy, daylight and sunlight in new residential development, whilst safeguarding the distinctive attributes of adjoining residential areas. It supplements various design policies in the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies DPD – full details are set out in Chapter 1 of the document.
The existing SPD, available here, was adopted in 2008. The Council is proposing a number of changes to the SPD to reflect the latest policy context and to keep it up-to-date. The Council consulted on the revised document from 27 September until 5pm on 8 November, and all responses are being taken into account before finalising the document for adoption. Once adopted, the revised SPD will become a material consideration in determining planning applications and other planning decisions.
